Mark 12:12

And they were seeking to seize Him, and yet they feared the people, for they understood that He told the parable against them. And so they left Him and went away.

But if we say, ‘From men,’ we fear the people; for they all regard John as a prophet.”

And hearing this, they were amazed; and they left Him and went away.

And the chief priests and the scribes heard this, and they began seeking how to put Him to death; for they were afraid of Him, because all the crowd was astonished at His teaching.

But should we say, ‘From men’?”—they were afraid of the people, for they all considered John to have been a real prophet.

The scribes and the chief priests tried to lay hands on Him that very hour, and yet they feared the people; for they were aware that He had spoken this parable against them.

But if we say, ‘From men,’ all the people will stone us to death, since they are convinced that John was a prophet.”

So some of the people of Jerusalem were saying, “Is this Man not the one whom they are seeking to kill?

So they were seeking to arrest Him; and yet no one laid a hand on Him, because His hour had not yet come.

And some of them wanted to arrest Him, but no one laid hands on Him.
