Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.

But You, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, Slow to anger and abundant in mercy and truth.

For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in mercy to all who call upon You.

In all their distress He was distressed, And the angel of His presence saved them; In His love and in His mercy He redeemed them, And He lifted them and carried them all the days of old.

“Is Ephraim My dear son? Is he a delightful child? Indeed, as often as I have spoken against him, I certainly still remember him; Therefore My heart yearns for him; I will certainly have mercy on him,” declares the Lord.

“I feel compassion for the people because they have remained with Me for three days already and have nothing to eat.

Now after this the Lord appointed seventy-two others, and sent them in pairs ahead of Him to every city and place where He Himself was going to come.

It happened that while Jesus was praying in a certain place, when He had finished, one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John also taught his disciples.”

But the Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and of the dish; but your inside is full of greed and wickedness.

And the Lord said, “Who then is the faithful and sensible steward, whom his master will put in charge of his servants, to give them their rations at the proper time?

But the Lord answered him and said, “You hypocrites, does each of you on the Sabbath not untie his ox or donkey from the stall and lead it away to water it?

The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!”

But the Lord said, “If you had faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and be planted in the sea’; and it would obey you.

And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unrighteous judge *said;

But Zaccheus stopped and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, half of my possessions I am giving to the poor, and if I have extorted anything from anyone, I am giving back four times as much.”

And then the Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He had told him, “Before a rooster crows today, you will deny Me three times.”

but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

saying, “The Lord has really risen and has appeared to Simon!”

Now as He approached the gate of the city, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow; and a sizeable crowd from the city was with her.

And He came up and touched the coffin; and the bearers came to a halt. And He said, “Young man, I say to you, arise!”

And after summoning two of his disciples, John sent them to the Lord, saying, “Are You the Coming One, or are we to look for another?”

Now they were all weeping and mourning for her; but He said, “Stop weeping, for she has not died, but is asleep.”

And it was the Mary who anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.

So the sisters sent word to Him, saying, “Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick.”

And they *said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She *said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they put Him.”

Jesus *said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” Thinking that He was the gardener, she *said to Him, “Sir, if you have carried Him away, tell me where you put Him, and I will take Him away.”

So then, when the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that He was making and baptizing more disciples than John

So they removed the foreign gods from among them and served the Lord; and He could no longer endure the misery of Israel.
