He has given freely to the poor, His righteousness endures forever; His horn will be exalted in honor.

Blessed is one who considers the helpless; The Lord will save him on a day of trouble.

One who is gracious to a poor person lends to the Lord, And He will repay him for his good deed.

All day long he is craving, While the righteous gives and does not hold back.

One who is generous will be blessed, Because he gives some of his food to the poor.

Divide your portion to seven, or even to eight, for you do not know what misfortune may occur on the earth.

When I devoted my mind to know wisdom and to see the business which has been done on the earth (even though one should never sleep day or night),

My heavenly Father will also do the same to you, if each of you does not forgive his brother from your heart.”

But I say to you, do not show opposition against an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other toward him also.

‘And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

But give that which is within as a charitable gift, and then all things are clean for you.

“Sell your possessions and give to charity; make yourselves money belts that do not wear out, an inexhaustible treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near nor does a moth destroy.

Now when Jesus heard this, He said to him, “One thing you still lack; sell all that you possess and distribute the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

Whoever hits you on the cheek, offer him the other also; and whoever takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic from him either.

Treat people the same way you want them to treat you.

Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.”

In everything I showed you that by working hard in this way you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’  ”

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.

The one who steals must no longer steal; but rather he must labor, producing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with the one who has need.
