Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said in his heart, “Will a child be born to a man a hundred years old? And will Sarah, who is ninety years old, give birth to a child?”

Sarah said, “God has made laughter for me; everyone who hears will laugh with me.”

For He has satisfied the thirsty soul, And He has filled the hungry soul with what is good.

My eyes shed streams of water, Because they do not keep Your Law.

I spread out my hands to You; My soul longs for You, like a weary land. Selah

As for me, I shall behold Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied with Your likeness when I awake.

The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart triumphs, And with my song I shall thank Him.

Blessed is the one You choose and allow to approach You; He will dwell in Your courtyards. We will be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, Your holy temple.

¶Now the Lord of armies will prepare a lavish banquet for all peoples on this mountain; A banquet of aged wine, choice pieces with marrow, And refined, aged wine.

For, you people in Zion, inhabitant in Jerusalem, you will weep no longer. He will certainly be gracious to you at the sound of your cry; when He hears it, He will answer you.

“Be joyful with Jerusalem and rejoice for her, all you who love her; Be exceedingly glad with her, all you who mourn over her,

But if you do not listen to it, My soul will weep in secret for such pride; And my eyes will shed And stream down tears, Because the flock of the Lord has been taken captive.

For I give plenty of water to the weary ones, and refresh everyone who languishes.”

“They will come with weeping, And by pleading I will bring them; I will lead them by streams of waters, On a straight path on which they will not stumble; For I am a father to Israel, And Ephraim is My firstborn.”

Oh, that my head were waters And my eyes a fountain of tears, That I might weep day and night For those slain of the daughter of my people!

Even when their survivors escape, they will be on the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them moaning, each over his own wrongdoing.

And the Lord said to him, “Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and make a mark on the foreheads of the people who groan and sigh over all the abominations which are being committed in its midst.”

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.

“He has filled the hungry with good things, And sent the rich away empty-handed.

And He raised His eyes toward His disciples and began saying, “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.

Blessed are you when the people hate you, and when they exclude you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man.

Woe to you who are well-fed now, for you will be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep.

Jesus replied to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who is saying to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; the one who comes to Me will not be hungry, and the one who believes in Me will never be thirsty.

Up to this present hour we are both hungry and thirsty, and are poorly clothed and roughly treated and homeless;

I have been in labor and hardship, through many sleepless nights, in hunger and thirst, often without food, in cold and exposure.

Therefore I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in distresses, in persecutions, in difficulties, in behalf of Christ; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

as sorrowful yet always rejoicing, as poor yet making many rich, as having nothing and yet possessing all things.

Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among the people, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them,

They will no longer hunger nor thirst, nor will the sun beat down on them, nor any scorching heat;
