Luke 5:17

One day He was teaching, and there were some Pharisees and teachers of the Law sitting there who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea, and from Jerusalem; and the power of the Lord was present for Him to perform healing.

Then some Pharisees and scribes *came to Jesus from Jerusalem and said,

But he went out and began to proclaim it freely and to spread the news around, to such an extent that Jesus could no longer publicly enter a city, but stayed out in unpopulated areas; and they were coming to Him from everywhere.

The scribes who came down from Jerusalem were saying, “He is possessed by Beelzebul,” and “He casts out the demons by the ruler of the demons.”

And immediately Jesus, perceiving in Himself that power from Him had gone out, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My garments?”

The Pharisees and some of the scribes *gathered to Him after they came from Jerusalem,

And both the Pharisees and the scribes began to complain, saying, “This Man receives sinners and eats with them.”

Then, after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions.

The scribes and the Pharisees began thinking of the implications, saying, “Who is this man who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, except God alone?”

The Pharisees and their scribes began grumbling to His disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with the tax collectors and sinners?”

And all the people were trying to touch Him, because power was coming from Him and healing them all.

But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected God’s purpose for themselves, not having been baptized by John.

But Jesus said, “Someone did touch Me, for I was aware that power had left Me.”

Jesus answered and said to him, “You are the teacher of Israel, and yet you do not understand these things?

But the one who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds will be revealed as having been performed in God.”

God was performing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul,

while You extend Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders take place through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.”

But a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the Law, respected by all the people, stood up in the Council and gave orders to put the men outside for a short time.
