“Because your heart was tender and you humbled yourself before God when you heard His words against this place and its inhabitants, and because you humbled yourself before Me, tore your clothes, and wept before Me, I have indeed heard you,” declares the Lord.

To hear the groaning of the prisoner, To set free those who were doomed to death,

He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.

The kings of the earth take their stand And the rulers conspire together Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying,

“But as for Me, I have installed My King Upon Zion, My holy mountain.”

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted And saves those who are crushed in spirit.

You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of joy above Your companions.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, God, You will not despise.

Then the eyes of those who see will not be blinded, And the ears of those who hear will listen.

Then the eyes of those who are blind will be opened, And the ears of those who are deaf will be unstopped.

To open blind eyes, To bring out prisoners from the dungeon And those who dwell in darkness from the prison.

“I have stirred him in righteousness, And I will make all his ways smooth. He will build My city and let My exiles go free, Without any payment or reward,” says the Lord of armies.

Saying to those who are bound, ‘Go free,’ To those who are in darkness, ‘Show yourselves.’ They will feed along the roads, And their pasture will be on all bare heights.

¶The Lord God has given Me the tongue of disciples, So that I may know how to sustain the weary one with a word. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear to listen as a disciple.

For this is what the high and exalted One Who lives forever, whose name is Holy, says: “I dwell in a high and holy place, And also with the contrite and lowly of spirit In order to revive the spirit of the lowly And to revive the heart of the contrite.

“As for Me, this is My covenant with them,” says the Lord: “My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your offspring, nor from the mouth of your offspring’s offspring,” says the Lord, “from now and forever.”

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, Because the Lord anointed me To bring good news to the humble; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, To proclaim release to captives And freedom to prisoners;

“For My hand made all these things, So all these things came into being,” declares the Lord. “But I will look to this one, At one who is humble and contrite in spirit, and who trembles at My word.

And the Lord said to him, “Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and make a mark on the foreheads of the people who groan and sigh over all the abominations which are being committed in its midst.”

“Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to finish the wrongdoing, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for guilt, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy Place.

“But I will leave among you A humble and lowly people, And they will take refuge in the name of the Lord.

So it was broken on that day, and so the afflicted of the flock who were watching me realized that it was the word of the Lord.

But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and frolic like calves from the stall.

those who are blind receive sight and those who limp walk, those with leprosy are cleansed and those who are deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

“Behold, My Servant whom I have chosen; My Beloved in whom My soul delights; I will put My Spirit upon Him, And He will proclaim justice to the Gentiles.

“A bent reed He will not break off, And a dimly burning wick He will not extinguish, Until He leads justice to victory.

The people who were sitting in darkness saw a great Light, And those who were sitting in the land and shadow of death, Upon them a Light dawned.”

“ Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

And the scroll of Isaiah the prophet was handed to Him. And He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written:

And He raised His eyes toward His disciples and began saying, “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.

And He answered and said to them, “Go and report to John what you have seen and heard: people who were blind receive sight, people who limped walk, people with leprosy are cleansed and people who were deaf hear, dead people are raised up, and people who are poor have the gospel preached to them.

He first *found his own brother Simon and *said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which translated means Christ).

I have come as Light into the world, so that no one who believes in Me will remain in darkness.

For He whom God sent speaks the words of God; for He does not give the Spirit sparingly.

You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me.’

‘The kings of the earth took their stand, And the rulers were gathered together Against the Lord and against His Christ.’

For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel,

For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,

Listen, my beloved brothers and sisters: did God not choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
