‘This is what you shall say to Joseph: “Please forgive, I beg you, the offense of your brothers and their sin, for they did you wrong.” ’ And now, please forgive the offense of the servants of the God of your father.” And Joseph wept when they spoke to him.

They divide my garments among them, And they cast lots for my clothing.

saying, “Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done.”

I ask on their behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world, but on the behalf of those whom You have given Me, because they are Yours;

Jesus answered him, “You would have no authority over Me at all, if it had not been given to you from above; for this reason the one who handed Me over to you has the greater sin.”

But Paul called out with a loud voice, saying, “Do not harm yourself, for we are all here!”

“And now, brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, just as your rulers also did.

Then he fell on his knees and cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them!” Having said this, he fell asleep.

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.

the wisdom which none of the rulers of this age has understood; for if they had understood it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory;

and we labor, working with our own hands; when we are verbally abused, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it;

even though I was previously a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor. Yet I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief;

not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you would inherit a blessing.
