There is one who pretends to be rich but has nothing; Another pretends to be poor, but has great wealth.

You have sown much, only to harvest little; you eat, but there is not enough to be satisfied; you drink, but there is not enough to become drunk; you put on clothing, but there is not enough for anyone to get warm; and the one who earns, earns wages to put into a money bag full of holes.”

Jesus said to him, “If you want to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

But give that which is within as a charitable gift, and then all things are clean for you.

Such is the one who stores up treasure for himself, and is not rich in relation to God.”

And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by means of the wealth of unrighteousness, so that when it is all gone, they will receive you into the eternal dwellings.

Now when Jesus heard this, He said to him, “One thing you still lack; sell all that you possess and distribute the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

Now he said this, not because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief, and as he kept the money box, he used to steal from what was put into it.

and they would sell their property and possessions and share them with all, to the extent that anyone had need.

that in a great ordeal of affliction their abundance of joy and their deep poverty overflowed in the wealth of their liberality.
