And King Zedekiah said, “Behold, he is in your hands; for the king can do nothing against you.”

Yes, Father, for this way was well pleasing in Your sight.

This he did to them, and saved them from the hands of the sons of Israel, and they did not kill them.

Then the sons of Israel said to the Lord, “We have sinned, do to us whatever seems good to You; only please save us this day.”

And he came to the men of Succoth and said, “Behold Zebah and Zalmunna, about whom you taunted me, saying, ‘Are the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna already in your hand, that we should give bread to your men who are weary?’ ”

So Samuel told him everything and hid nothing from him. And he said, “He is the Lord; let Him do what seems good to Him.”
