Awake, you heavy drinkers, and weep; And wail, all you wine drinkers, Because of the sweet wine, For it has been eliminated from your mouth.

“Son of man, prophesy and say, ‘This is what the Lord God says: “Wail, ‘Woe for the day!’
Be ashamed, you farm workers, Wail, you vinedressers, For the wheat and the barley; Because the harvest of the field is destroyed.
¶Put on sackcloth And mourn, you priests; Wail, you ministers of the altar! Come, spend the night in sackcloth, You ministers of my God, For the grain offering and the drink offering Have been withheld from the house of your God.
“They have also cast lots for My people, Traded a boy for a prostitute, And sold a girl for wine so that they may drink.
“Now there was a rich man, and he habitually dressed in purple and fine linen, enjoying himself in splendor every day.
Come now, you rich people, weep and howl for your miseries which are coming upon you.
