Jeremiah 26:9

Why have you prophesied in the name of the Lord, saying, ‘This house will be like Shiloh and this city will be in ruins, without inhabitant’?” And all the people gathered to Jeremiah at the house of the Lord.

Because of the sins of her prophets And the wrongdoings of her priests, Who have shed in her midst The blood of the righteous,

¶They hate him who rebukes in the gate, And they despise him who speaks with integrity.

¶‘Do not prophesy,’ so they prophesy. But if they do not prophesy about these things, Insults will not be turned back.

When He entered the temple area, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to Him while He was teaching, and said, “By what authority are You doing these things, and who gave You this authority?”

But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds to ask for Barabbas, and to put Jesus to death.

But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to ask him to release Barabbas for them instead.

These words He spoke in the treasury, as He taught in the temple area; and no one arrested Him, because His hour had not yet come.

Therefore they picked up stones to throw at Him, but Jesus hid Himself and left the temple grounds.

But the Jews incited the devout women of prominence and the leading men of the city, and instigated a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and drove them out of their region.

Then the whole city was provoked and the people rushed together, and taking hold of Paul they dragged him out of the temple, and immediately the doors were shut.

They listened to him up to this statement, and then they raised their voices and said, “Away with such a man from the earth, for he should not be allowed to live!”

While he was clinging to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them at the portico named Solomon’s, completely astonished.

At the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were taking place among the people; and they were all together in Solomon’s portico.

saying, “We gave you strict orders not to continue teaching in this name, and yet, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and intend to bring this Man’s blood upon us.”

for we have heard him say that this Nazarene, Jesus, will destroy this place and change the customs which Moses handed down to us.”

Then the whole congregation of the sons of Israel assembled at Shiloh, and set up the tent of meeting there; and the land was subdued before them.
