When Joseph came to them in the morning and saw them, behold, they were dejected.

And He said to them, “What are these words that you are exchanging with one another as you are walking?” And they came to a stop, looking sad.

And he said, “You have taken my gods which I made, and the priest, and have gone away; what more do I have? So how can you say to me, ‘What is the matter with you?’ ”

Then Elkanah her husband would say to her, “Hannah, why do you weep, and why do you not eat, and why is your heart sad? Am I not better to you than ten sons?”
