Though she spoke to Joseph day after day, he did not listen to her to lie beside her or be with her.

Now it happened one day that he went into the house to do his work, and none of the people of the household was there inside.

When she saw that he had left his garment in her hand and had fled outside,

But he refused and said to his master’s wife, “Look, with me here, my master does not concern himself with anything in the house, and he has put me in charge of all that he owns.

When she brought them to him to eat, he took hold of her and said to her, “Come, sleep with me, my sister.”

My son, do not walk on the way with them. Keep your feet from their path,

Keep your way far from her, And do not go near the door of her house,

Save yourself like a gazelle from the hunter’s hand, And like a bird from the hand of the fowler.

And I discovered as more bitter than death the woman whose heart is snares and nets, whose hands are chains. One who is pleasing to God will escape from her, but the sinner will be captured by her.

Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.”

Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.

Beloved, I urge you as foreigners and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts, which wage war against the soul.
