And the man and his wife were both naked, but they were not ashamed.

And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree from which I commanded you not to eat?”

Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves waist coverings.

“Therefore, I would be terrified at His presence; When I consider this, I am frightened of Him.

“Have I covered my wrongdoings like a man, By hiding my guilt in my shirt pocket,

My flesh trembles from the fear of You, And I am afraid of Your judgments.

And all the people were watching and hearing the thunder and the lightning flashes, and the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it all, they trembled and stood at a distance.

Then they said to Moses, “Speak to us yourself and we will listen; but do not have God speak to us, or we will die!”

And He said, “I am the God of your father—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Then Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.

Now when Moses saw that the people were out of control—for Aaron had let them get out of control to the point of being an object of ridicule among their enemies—

Sinners in Zion are terrified; Trembling has seized the godless. “Who among us can live with the consuming fire? Who among us can live with everlasting burning?”

“Your nakedness will be uncovered, Your shame will also be exposed; I will take vengeance and will not spare anyone.”

¶“Of whom were you worried and fearful When you lied, and did not remember Me Nor give Me a thought? Was I not silent, even for a long time, So you do not fear Me?

Now then, why should we die? For this great fire will consume us; if we hear the voice of the Lord our God any longer, then we will die!

that if our heart condemns us, that God is greater than our heart, and He knows all things.

(“Behold, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is the one who stays awake and keeps his clothes, so that he will not walk about naked and people will not see his shame.”)
