Then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and the man became a living person.

So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

But a mist used to rise from the earth and water the whole surface of the ground.

By the sweat of your face You shall eat bread, Until you return to the ground, Because from it you were taken; For you are dust, And to dust you shall return.”

therefore the Lord God sent him out of the Garden of Eden, to cultivate the ground from which he was taken.

then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.

A time to tear apart and a time to sew together; A time to be silent and a time to speak.

Take no account of man, whose breath of life is in his nostrils; For why should he be esteemed?

¶But now, Lord, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter, And all of us are the work of Your hand.

The breath of our nostrils, the Lord’s anointed, Was captured in their pits, Of whom we had said, “In his shadow We shall live among the nations.”

This is what the Lord God says to these bones: ‘Behold, I am going to make breath enter you so that you may come to life.

And I will attach tendons to you, make flesh grow back on you, cover you with skin, and put breath in you so that you may come to life; and you will know that I am the Lord.’ ”

The pronouncement of the word of the Lord concerning Israel: The Lord who stretches out the heavens, lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of a person within him, declares:

But they fell on their faces and said, “God, the God of the spirits of humanity, when one person sins, will You be angry with the entire congregation?”

“May the Lord, the God of the spirits of humanity, appoint a man over the congregation,

And when He had said this, He breathed on them and *said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.

nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things;

On the contrary, who are you, you foolish person, who answers back to God? The thing molded will not say to the molder, “Why did you make me like this,” will it?

So also it is written: “The first man, Adam, became a living person.” The last Adam was a life-giving spirit.

The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second Man is from heaven.

But we have this treasure in earthen containers, so that the extraordinary greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves;

For we know that if our earthly tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made by hands, eternal in the heavens.

For it was Adam who was first created, and then Eve.

Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them; shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits, and live?
