So Abram went away as the Lord had spoken to him; and Lot went with him. Now Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.

Abram took his wife Sarai and his nephew Lot, and all their possessions which they had accumulated, and the people which they had acquired in Haran, and they set out for the land of Canaan; so they came to the land of Canaan.

And the land could not support both of them while living together, for their possessions were so great that they were not able to remain together.

When the boys grew up, Esau became a skillful hunter, a man of the field; but Jacob was a civilized man, living in tents.

Adah gave birth to Jabal; he was the father of those who live in tents and have livestock.

“They will take away their tents and their flocks; They will carry off for themselves Their tent curtains, all their goods and their camels, And they will call out to one another, ‘Horror on every side!’
