Then David built there an altar to the Lord, and he offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. And the Lord responded to prayer for the land, and the plague was withdrawn from Israel.

And the Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To your descendants I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to the Lord who had appeared to him.

So Saul said, “Bring me the burnt offering and the peace offerings.” And he offered the burnt offering.

And Saul built an altar to the Lord; it was the first altar that he built to the Lord.

Then he would make his return to Ramah, because his house was there, and there he also judged Israel; and there he built an altar to the Lord.

Samuel took a nursing lamb and offered it as a whole burnt offering to the Lord; and Samuel cried out to the Lord for Israel, and the Lord answered him.
