Now these are the last words of David. David the son of Jesse declares, The man who was raised on high, The anointed of the God of Jacob And the sweet psalmist of Israel, declares,

Then Jacob summoned his sons and said, “Assemble yourselves, so that I may tell you what will happen to you in the days to come.

“He makes my feet like deer’s feet, And sets me on my high places.

“He is a tower of salvation to His king, And shows favor to His anointed, To David and his descendants forever.”

Then on that day David first assigned Asaph and his relatives to give thanks to the Lord.

Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; Speak of all His wonders.

“But as for Me, I have installed My King Upon Zion, My holy mountain.”

¶The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.

“I have found My servant David; With My holy oil I have anointed him,

With whom My hand will be established; My arm also will strengthen him.

Who improvise to the sound of the harp, And like David have composed songs for themselves,

For David himself says in the book of Psalms, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand,

Now He said to them, “These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all the things that are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”

Now this is the blessing with which Moses the man of God blessed the sons of Israel before his death.

Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

Is anyone among you suffering? Then he must pray. Is anyone cheerful? He is to sing praises.

Now David was the son of the Ephrathite of Bethlehem in Judah, the man whose name was Jesse, and he had eight sons. And Jesse was old in the days of Saul, advanced in years among men.

The women sang as they played, and said, “Saul has slain his thousands, And David his ten thousands.”

“Those who contend with the Lord will be terrified; Against them He will thunder in the heavens, The Lord will judge the ends of the earth; And He will give strength to His king, And will exalt the horn of His anointed.”
