Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He saved them from their distresses.

Then I called upon the name of the Lord: “Please, Lord, save my life!”

I cried to the Lord in my trouble, And He answered me.

In my distress I called upon the Lord, And cried to my God for help; He heard my voice from His temple, And my cry for help before Him came into His ears.

¶One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord And to meditate in His temple.

This wretched man cried out, and the Lord heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles.

And the Lord said, “I have certainly seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their outcry because of their taskmasters, for I am aware of their sufferings.

“So I said, ‘I have been cast out of Your sight. Nevertheless I will look again toward Your holy temple.’

“While I was fainting away, I remembered the Lord, And my prayer came to You, Into Your holy temple.

“But the Lord is in His holy temple. Let all the earth be silent before Him.”

And being in agony, He was praying very fervently; and His sweat became like drops of blood, falling down upon the ground].

In the days of His humanity, He offered up both prayers and pleas with loud crying and tears to the One able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His devout behavior.

Behold, the pay of the laborers who mowed your fields, and which has been withheld by you, cries out against you; and the outcry of those who did the harvesting has reached the ears of the Lord of armies.
