“And if they are bound in shackles, And are caught in the snares of misery,

The snares of death encompassed me And the terrors of Sheol came upon me; I found distress and sorrow.

The proud have hidden a trap for me, and snares; They have spread a net at the wayside; They have set snares for me. Selah

The ropes of Sheol surrounded me; The snares of death confronted me.

The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life, To turn aside from the snares of death.

The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, By which one may avoid the snares of death.

His own wrongdoings will trap the wicked, And he will be held by the ropes of his sin.

and he said, “I called out of my distress to the Lord, And He answered me. I called for help from the depth of Sheol; You heard my voice.

“But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then recognize that her desolation is near.

But God raised Him from the dead, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power.
