Then he moved away from there and dug another well, and they did not quarrel over it; so he named it Rehoboth, for he said, “At last the Lord has made room for us, and we will be fruitful in the land.”

But if He says this: ‘I have no delight in you,’ then here I am, let Him do to me as seems good to Him.”

“You enlarge my steps under me, And my feet have not slipped.

Now Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, “Oh that You would greatly bless me and extend my border, and that Your hand might be with me, and that You would keep me from harm so that it would not hurt me!” And God brought about what he requested.

¶From my distress I called upon the Lord; The Lord answered me and put me in an open space.

The Lord favors those who fear Him, Those who wait for His faithfulness.

For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will glorify the lowly with salvation.

“Turn him over to the Lord; let Him save him; Let Him rescue him, because He delights in him.”

And You have not handed me over to the enemy; You have set my feet in a large place.

¶Be gracious to me, Lord, for I am in distress; My eye is wasted away from grief, my soul and my body too.

“Behold, My Servant, whom I uphold; My chosen one in whom My soul delights. I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the nations.

Since Israel is stubborn Like a stubborn cow, Will the Lord now pasture them Like a lamb in a large field?

While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice from the cloud said, “This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to Him!”

He has trusted in God; let God rescue Him now, if He takes pleasure in Him; for He said, ‘I am the Son of God.’ ”

and behold, a voice from the heavens said, “This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”
