So He drove the man out; and at the east of the Garden of Eden He stationed the cherubim and the flaming sword which turned every direction to guard the way to the tree of life.

And David departed from Baale-judah, with all the people who were with him, to bring up from there the ark of God which is called by the Name, the very name of the Lord of armies who is enthroned above the cherubim.

He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters; He makes the clouds His chariot; He walks on the wings of the wind;

If I take up the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea,

He rode on a cherub and flew; And He sped on the wings of the wind.

The chariots of God are myriads, thousands upon thousands; The Lord is among them as at Sinai, in holiness.

Listen, Shepherd of Israel, Who leads Joseph like a flock; You who are enthroned above the cherubim, shine forth!

The Lord reigns, the peoples tremble! He sits enthroned above the cherubim, the earth quakes!

Make one cherub at one end and one cherub at the other end; you shall make the cherubim of one piece with the atoning cover at its two ends.

Then the glory of the God of Israel ascended from the cherub on which it had been, to the threshold of the temple. And He called to the man clothed in linen at whose waist was the scribe’s kit.

Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to provide service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?

So the people sent men to Shiloh, and from there they carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord of armies who is enthroned above the cherubim; and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.
