So the king said to Ziba, “Behold, all that belongs to Mephibosheth is yours.” And Ziba said, “I prostrate myself; may I find favor in your sight, my lord, the king!”

And Joab fell on his face to the ground, prostrated himself, and blessed the king; then Joab said, “Today your servant knows that I have found favor in your sight, my lord the king, in that the king has performed the request of his servant.”

Then the king summoned Saul’s servant Ziba and said to him, “Everything that belonged to Saul and to all his house I have given to your master’s grandson.

“You shall not take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the clear-sighted and subverts the cause of the just.

One who gives an answer before he hears, It is foolishness and shame to him.

The first to plead his case seems right, Until another comes and examines him.

Also it is not good for a person to be without knowledge, And one who hurries his footsteps errs.

“A single witness shall not rise up against a person regarding any wrongdoing or any sin that he commits; on the testimony of two or three witnesses a matter shall be confirmed.
