2 Samuel 12:20

So David got up from the ground, washed, anointed himself, and changed his clothes; and he went into the house of the Lord and worshiped. Then he went to his own house, and when he asked, they served him food, and he ate.

But when David saw that his servants were whispering together, David perceived that the child was dead; so David said to his servants, “Is the child dead?” And they said, “He is dead.”

Then his servants said to him, “What is this thing that you have done? You fasted and wept for the child while he was alive; but when the child died, you got up and ate food.”

So Joab sent a messenger to Tekoa and brought a wise woman from there, and said to her, “Please follow mourning rites, and put on mourning garments now, and do not anoint yourself with oil but be like a woman who has been mourning for the dead for many days.

Then Mephibosheth the grandson of Saul came down to meet the king; but he had neither tended to his feet, nor trimmed his mustache, nor washed his clothes since the day the king departed until the day he came home in peace.

Now they brought in the ark of the Lord and set it in its place inside the tent which David had pitched for it; and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord.

Then David the king came in and sat before the Lord, and he said, “Who am I, Lord God, and who are the members of my household, that You have brought me this far?

Then Job got up, tore his robe, and shaved his head; then he fell to the ground and worshiped.

But he said to her, “You are speaking as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we actually accept good from God but not accept adversity?” Despite all this, Job did not sin with his lips.

Bless the Lord, my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name.

The Lord is compassionate and gracious, Slow to anger and abounding in mercy.

“I have become mute, I do not open my mouth, Because it is You who have done it.

¶Come, let’s worship and bow down, Let’s kneel before the Lord our Maker.

Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and turn away from evil.

See that your clothes are white all the time, and that there is no lack of oil on your head.

But as for you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,

You did not anoint My head with oil, but she anointed My feet with perfume.

Wash yourself therefore, and anoint yourself, and put on your best clothes, and go down to the threshing floor; but do not reveal yourself to the man until he has finished eating and drinking.

Now then, please pardon my sin and return with me, so that I may worship the Lord.”

So Samuel went back following Saul, and Saul worshiped the Lord.
