And Elisha was watching it and he was crying out, “My father, my father, the chariot of Israel and its horsemen!” And he did not see Elijah again. Then he took hold of his own clothes and tore them in two pieces.

So Jacob tore his clothes, and put on a sackcloth undergarment over his waist, and mourned for his son many days.

Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.

When Elisha became sick with the illness of which he was to die, Joash the king of Israel came down to him, and wept over him and said, “My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and its horsemen!”

He also took up the coat of Elijah that had fallen from him, and he went back and stood by the bank of the Jordan.

Then his servants approached and spoke to him, saying, “My father, had the prophet told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you, ‘Wash, and be clean’?”

Then the king of Israel when he saw them, said to Elisha, “My father, shall I kill them? Shall I kill them?”

“He will rescue one who is not innocent, And he will be rescued due to the cleanness of your hands.”

By the blessing of the upright a city is exalted, But by the mouth of the wicked, it is torn down.

Who has ascended into heaven and descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has wrapped the waters in His garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name or His Son’s name? Surely you know!

Wisdom strengthens a wise person more than ten rulers who are in a city.

Hezekiah prayed to the Lord, saying,

Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent word to Hezekiah, saying, “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel says: ‘Because you have prayed to Me about Sennacherib king of Assyria,

Perhaps the Lord your God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom his master the king of Assyria has sent to taunt the living God, and will avenge the words which the Lord your God has heard. Therefore, offer a prayer for the remnant that is left.’ ”

So then, when the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.

When the angels had departed from them into heaven, the shepherds began saying to one another, “Let’s go straight to Bethlehem, then, and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.”

While He was blessing them, He parted from them and was carried up into heaven.

No one has ascended into heaven, except He who descended from heaven: the Son of Man.

And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were watching, and a cloud took Him up, out of their sight.

saying, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul; you must stand before Caesar; and behold, God has graciously granted you all those who are sailing with you.’

Some devout men buried Stephen, and mourned loudly for him.

For indeed, in this tent we groan, longing to be clothed with our dwelling from heaven,

For indeed, we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, because we do not want to be unclothed but to be clothed, so that what is mortal will be swallowed up by life.

Therefore it says, “When He ascended on high, He led captive the captives, And He gave gifts to people.”

And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” And they went up into heaven in the cloud, and their enemies watched them.

Micah then said to him, “Stay with me and be a father and a priest to me, and I will give you ten pieces of silver a year, a supply of clothing, and your sustenance.” So the Levite went in.
