Then their father Israel said to them, “If it must be so, then do this: take some of the best products of the land in your bags, and carry down to the man as a gift, a little balsam and a little honey, labdanum resin and myrrh, pistachio nuts and almonds.

A person’s gift makes room for him And brings him before great people.

But certain useless men said, “How can this one save us?” And they despised him and did not bring him a gift. But he kept silent about it.

And they will greet you and give you two loaves of bread, which you will accept from their hand.

So Saul sent messengers to Jesse to say, “Send me your son David, who is with the flock.”

Bring also these ten slices of cheese to the commander of their thousand, and look into the well-being of your brothers and bring back confirmation from them.

Then Abigail hurried and took two hundred loaves of bread and two jugs of wine, and five sheep already prepared and five measures of roasted grain, and a hundred cakes of raisins and two hundred cakes of figs, and she loaded them on donkeys.
