Then Samuel told the people the ordinances of the kingdom, and wrote them in the book, and placed it before the Lord. And Samuel sent all the people away, each one to his house.
Then Jehoiada made a covenant between the Lord, the king, and the people, that they would be the Lord’s people, and between the king and the people.
“Take this Book of the Law and place it beside the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, so that it may remain there as a witness against you.
for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.
Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed,
So Joshua blessed them and sent them away, and they went to their tents.
Then Samuel said to the people, “Come, and let us go to Gilgal and renew the kingdom there.”
Now then, listen to their voice; however, you shall warn them strongly and tell them of the practice of the king who will reign over them.”
