You hypocrites, rightly did Isaiah prophesy about you, by saying:

So you too, outwardly appear righteous to people, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

and he will cut him in two and assign him a place with the hypocrites; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye!

Are we to pay, or not pay?” But He, knowing their hypocrisy, said to them, “Why are you testing Me? Bring Me a denarius to look at.”

Woe to you! For you are like unseen tombs, and the people who walk over them are unaware of it.”

people having been filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, and evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malice; they are gossips,

Brothers and sisters, do not be children in your thinking; yet in evil be infants, but in your thinking be mature.

Therefore let’s celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good,

Therefore, since we also have such a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let’s rid ourselves of every obstacle and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let’s run with endurance the race that is set before us,

Therefore, ridding yourselves of all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls.

But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth.

Do not speak against one another, brothers and sisters. The one who speaks against a brother or sister, or judges his brother or sister, speaks against the law and judges the law; but if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge of it.

Or do you think that the Scripture says to no purpose, “He jealously desires the Spirit whom He has made to dwell in us”?

Do not complain, brothers and sisters, against one another, so that you may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing right at the door.

Act as free people, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bond-servants of God.

He who committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in His mouth;

For, “The one who desires life, to love and see good days, Must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit.

so as to live the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human lusts, but for the will of God.

In all this, they are surprised that you do not run with them in the same excesses of debauchery, and they slander you;

And no lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless.
