My soul weeps because of grief; Strengthen me according to Your word.

I know, Lord, that Your judgments are righteous, And that You have afflicted me in faithfulness.

¶The afflictions of the righteous are many, But the Lord rescues him from them all.

All my bones will say, “Lord, who is like You, Who rescues the afflicted from one who is too strong for him, And the afflicted and the poor from one who robs him?”

¶Disgrace has broken my heart, and I am so sick. And I waited for sympathy, but there was none; And for comforters, but I found none.

So that I may tell of all Your praises, That in the gates of the daughter of Zion I may rejoice in Your salvation.

Come, let’s sing for joy to the Lord, Let’s shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation.

¶I will rejoice greatly in the Lord, My soul will be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with garments of salvation, He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness, As a groom puts on a turban, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

To grant those who mourn in Zion, Giving them a garland instead of ashes, The oil of gladness instead of mourning, The cloak of praise instead of a disheartened spirit. So they will be called oaks of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.

“Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

And He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee with Him, and began to be grieved and distressed.

Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in this same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.

Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven.”

And so the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people;

Therefore you too have grief now; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one is going to take your joy away from you.

These things I have spoken to you so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”

strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying, “It is through many tribulations that we must enter the kingdom of God.”

rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer,

And not only this, but we also celebrate in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

through whom we also have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we celebrate in hope of the glory of God.

For our momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison,

as sorrowful yet always rejoicing, as poor yet making many rich, as having nothing and yet possessing all things.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

because he was longing for you all and was distressed because you had heard that he was sick.

for we are the true circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and take pride in Christ Jesus, and put no confidence in the flesh,

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!

You also became imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the word during great affliction with the joy of the Holy Spirit,

Consider it all joy, my brothers and sisters, when you encounter various trials,

Now the brother or sister of humble circumstances is to glory in his high position;

Be miserable, and mourn, and weep; let your laughter be turned into mourning, and your joy into gloom.

For it is better, if God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong.

The end of all things is near; therefore, be of sound judgment and sober spirit for the purpose of prayer.

After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

Then Hannah prayed and said, “My heart rejoices in the Lord; My horn is exalted in the Lord, My mouth speaks boldly against my enemies, Because I rejoice in Your salvation.
