In the beginning, when God created the heavens and the earth—

Were you the first to be born? Were you brought forth before the hills?

See, God is great beyond our knowledge, the number of his years past searching out.

But you, Lord, are enthroned forever; your renown is for all generations.

But the Lord’s mercy is from age to age, toward those who fear him. His salvation is for the children’s children

The maker of heaven and earth, the seas and all that is in them, Who keeps faith forever,

For he spoke, and it came to be, commanded, and it stood in place.

Your throne stands firm from of old; you are from everlasting.
