A prayer of Moses, the man of God. Lord, you have been our refuge through all generations.
The God of old is a refuge; a support are the arms of the Everlasting. He drove the enemy out of your way and he said, “Destroy!”
Be my rock of refuge, my stronghold to give me safety; for you are my rock and fortress.
We have come to know and to believe in the love God has for us. God is love, and whoever remains in love remains in God and God in him.
You who dwell in the shelter of the Most High, who abide in the shade of the Almighty,
Therefore say: Thus says the Lord God: I have indeed sent them far away among the nations, scattered them over the lands, and have been but little sanctuary for them in the lands to which they have gone.
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him.
Because you have the Lord for your refuge and have made the Most High your stronghold,
A maskil of Ethan the Ezrahite.
He shall be a snare, a stone for injury, A rock for stumbling to both the houses of Israel, A trap and a snare to those who dwell in Jerusalem;
But you, man of God, avoid all this. Instead, pursue righteousness, devotion, faith, love, patience, and gentleness.
A man of God came from Judah to Bethel by the word of the Lord, while Jeroboam was standing at the altar to burn incense.
This is the blessing with which Moses, the man of God, blessed the Israelites before he died.
Are you not from of old, O Lord, my holy God, immortal? Lord, you have appointed them for judgment, O Rock, you have set them in place to punish!
