Psalm 73:1

A psalm of Asaph. How good God is to the upright, to those who are pure of heart!

Therefore the Levites appointed Heman, son of Joel, and, among his brothers, Asaph, son of Berechiah; and among the sons of Merari, their brothers, Ethan, son of Kushaiah;

Then David left Asaph and his brothers there before the ark of the covenant of the Lord to minister before the ark regularly according to the daily ritual;

On that same day, David appointed Asaph and his brothers to sing for the first time these praises of the Lord:

The following were their dwelling places, by encampments in their territories. To the sons of Aaron who belonged to the clan of the Kohathites, since the lot fell to them,

King Hezekiah and the princes then told the Levites to sing the praises of the Lord in the words of David and of Asaph the seer. They sang praises till their joy was full, then fell down and worshiped.

“I myself have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.”

“The clean of hand and pure of heart, who has not given his soul to useless things, what is vain.

It shatters my bones, when my adversaries reproach me, when they say to me every day: “Where is your God?”

A psalm of Asaph. The God of gods, the Lord, has spoken and summoned the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting.

You will let me hear gladness and joy; the bones you have crushed will rejoice.

You set them, indeed, on a slippery road; you hurl them down to ruin.

Better one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere. Better the threshold of the house of my God than a home in the tents of the wicked.

Cleanse your heart of evil, Jerusalem, that you may be saved. How long will you entertain wicked schemes?

Blessed are the clean of heart, for they will see God.

Do not be afraid any longer, little flock, for your Father is pleased to give you the kingdom.

Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said of him, “Here is a true Israelite. There is no duplicity in him.”

For this reason, it depends on faith, so that it may be a gift, and the promise may be guaranteed to all his descendants, not to those who only adhere to the law but to those who follow the faith of Abraham, who is the father of all of us,

not because of any righteous deeds we had done but because of his mercy, he saved us through the bath of rebirth and renewal by the holy Spirit,

Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you of two minds.
