Psalm 57:5

I must lie down in the midst of lions hungry for human prey. Their teeth are spears and arrows; their tongue, a sharpened sword.

King David then said to the whole assembly: “My son Solomon, whom alone God has chosen, is still young and inexperienced; the work, however, is great, for this palace is not meant for human beings, but for the Lord God.

Let them all praise the Lord’s name, for his name alone is exalted, His majesty above earth and heaven.

For you will put them to flight; you will aim at their faces with your bow.

For your mercy towers to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies.

Their mouths pour out insult; sharp words are on their lips. They say: “Who is there to hear?”

They sharpen their tongues like swords, bend their bows of poison words.

Blessed be his glorious name forever; may he fill all the earth with his glory. Amen and amen.

For the leader; “upon the gittith.” A psalm of David.

The babble of some people is like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise is healing.

There are some—their teeth are swords, their teeth are knives, Devouring the needy from the earth, and the poor from the human race.

And you will say on that day: give thanks to the Lord, acclaim his name; Among the nations make known his deeds, proclaim how exalted is his name.

The eyes of human pride shall be lowered, the arrogance of mortals shall be abased, and the Lord alone will be exalted, on that day.

Then human pride shall be abased, the arrogance of mortals brought low, And the Lord alone will be exalted on that day.

Therefore, Lord, our God, save us from this man’s power, That all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you alone, Lord, are God.”

One cried out to the other: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts! All the earth is filled with his glory!”

But the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Lord’s glory, just as the water covers the sea.

God came from Teman, the Holy One from Mount Paran. Selah His glory covered the heavens, and his praise filled the earth;

Yet, by my life and the Lord’s glory that fills the whole earth,
