God is our refuge and our strength, an ever-present help in distress.

He went forth to meet Asa and said to him: “Hear me, Asa and all Judah and Benjamin! The Lord is with you when you are with him, and if you seek him he will be found; but if you abandon him, he will abandon you.

David said to himself: “I shall perish some day at the hand of Saul. I have no choice but to escape to the land of the Philistines; then Saul will give up his continual search for me throughout the land of Israel, and I will be out of his reach.”

But let those who favor my just cause shout for joy and be glad. May they ever say, “Exalted be the Lord who delights in the peace of his loyal servant.”

While those who seek you rejoice and be glad in you. May those who long for your salvation always say, “The Lord is great.”
