The Israelites were humbled on that occasion, while the Judahites were victorious because they relied on the Lord, the God of their ancestors.

and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the holy Spirit that has been given to us.

For it says in scripture: “Behold, I am laying a stone in Zion, a cornerstone, chosen and precious, and whoever believes in it shall not be put to shame.”
