For to me sighing comes more readily than food; my groans well forth like water.

Why, Lord, do you stand afar and pay no heed in times of trouble?

A miktam of David. Keep me safe, O God; in you I take refuge.

Upon you I was thrust from the womb; since my mother bore me you are my God.

As dry as a potsherd is my throat; my tongue cleaves to my palate; you lay me in the dust of death.

Do not take me away with sinners, nor my life with the men of blood,

For the Lord loves justice and does not abandon the faithful. When the unjust are destroyed, and the offspring of the wicked cut off,

My loins burn with fever; there is no wholesomeness in my flesh.

They say, “God has abandoned him. Pursue, and seize him! No one will come to the rescue!”

I am bringing on that victory, it is not far off, my salvation shall not tarry; I will put salvation within Zion, give to Israel my glory.

Like bears we all growl, like doves we moan without ceasing. We cry out for justice, but it is not there; for salvation, but it is far from us.

Break it into pieces, and pour oil over it. It is a grain offering.

And about three o’clock Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

And at three o’clock Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which is translated, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

He was in such agony and he prayed so fervently that his sweat became like drops of blood falling on the ground.]

He said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the law of Moses and in the prophets and psalms must be fulfilled.”

Let your life be free from love of money but be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never forsake you or abandon you.”

In the days when he was in the flesh, he offered prayers and supplications with loud cries and tears to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence.

For the sake of his own great name the Lord will not abandon his people, since the Lord has decided to make you his people.
