David proclaimed the words of this song to the Lord when the Lord had rescued him from the grasp of all his enemies and from the grasp of Saul.

They attacked me on a day of distress, but the Lord came to my support.

This is my good fortune, for I have kept your precepts.

Though I walk in the midst of dangers, you guard my life when my enemies rage. You stretch out your hand; your right hand saves me.

“Be still and know that I am God! I am exalted among the nations, exalted on the earth.”

They roam about as scavengers; if they are not filled, they howl.
