He came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near,

For what great nation is there that has gods so close to it as the Lord, our God, is to us whenever we call upon him?

And Hannah prayed: “My heart exults in the Lord, my horn is exalted by my God. I have swallowed up my enemies; I rejoice in your victory.

But you are “a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people of his own, so that you may announce the praises” of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

He is your praise; he is your God, who has done for you those great and awesome things that your own eyes have seen.

Lavishly he gives to the poor; his righteousness shall endure forever; his horn shall be exalted in honor.

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have become near by the blood of Christ.

To execute the judgments decreed for them— such is the glory of all God’s faithful. Hallelujah!

So then you are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the holy ones and members of the household of God,

a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and glory for your people Israel.”

He has thrown down the rulers from their thrones but lifted up the lowly.

Heal me, Lord, that I may be healed; save me, that I may be saved, for you are my praise.

All your works give you thanks, Lord and your faithful bless you.

Indeed your enemies, Lord, indeed your enemies shall perish; all sinners shall be scattered.

In your name they sing joyfully all the day; they rejoice in your righteousness.

You are their majestic strength; by your favor our horn is exalted.
