Do not let lying foes rejoice over me, my undeserved enemies wink knowingly.

Who say in their hearts, “God has forgotten, shows no concern, never bothers to look.”

For the needy will never be forgotten, nor will the hope of the afflicted ever fade.

“And now, only a short time ago, mercy came to us from the Lord, our God, who left us a remnant and gave us a stake in his holy place; thus our God has brightened our eyes and given us relief in our slavery.
