“Is God indeed to dwell on earth? If the heavens and the highest heavens cannot contain you, how much less this house which I have built!

Let them all praise the Lord’s name, for his name alone is exalted, His majesty above earth and heaven.

For you, Lord, are the Most High over all the earth, exalted far above all gods.

Great is the Lord in Zion, exalted above all the peoples.

See, the nations count as a drop in the bucket, as a wisp of cloud on the scales; the coastlands weigh no more than a speck.

Before him all the nations are as nought, as nothing and void he counts them.

The one who is enthroned above the vault of the earth, its inhabitants like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a veil and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in,

Thus says the Lord: The heavens are my throne, the earth, my footstool. What house can you build for me? Where is the place of my rest?
