Your hands made me and fashioned me; give me understanding to learn your commandments.

All this you were allowed to see that you might know that the Lord is God; there is no other.

For you had gone astray like sheep, but you have now returned to the shepherd and guardian of your souls.

Know, then, that the Lord, your God, is God: the faithful God who keeps covenant mercy to the thousandth generation toward those who love him and keep his commandments,

But you are “a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people of his own, so that you may announce the praises” of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come And the years approach of which you will say, “I have no pleasure in them”;

For the Lord is the great God, the great king over all gods,

May the Lord cut off all deceiving lips, and every boastful tongue,

Is it a pleasure for you to oppress, to spurn the work of your hands, and shine on the plan of the wicked?

Is this how you repay the Lord, so foolish and unwise a people? Is he not your father who begot you, the one who made and established you?

So Jacob ate and was satisfied, Jeshurun grew fat and kicked; you became fat and gross and gorged. They forsook the God who made them and scorned the Rock of their salvation.

The Lord is our God; who rules the whole earth.

Yet, Lord, you are our father; we are the clay and you our potter: we are all the work of your hand.
