Let your father and mother rejoice; let her who bore you exult.

The Proverbs of Solomon: A wise son gives his father joy, but a foolish son is a grief to his mother.

A foolish son is vexation to his father, and bitter sorrow to her who bore him.

My son, if your heart is wise, my heart also will rejoice;

My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes keep to my ways,

Be wise, my son, and bring joy to my heart, so that I can answer whoever taunts me.

Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown his great mercy toward her, and they rejoiced with her.
