The perverse in heart come to no good, and the double-tongued fall into trouble.

Toward the faithful you are faithful; to the honest man you are honest;

One who winks at a fault causes trouble, but one who frankly reproves promotes peace.

The wise store up knowledge, but the mouth of a fool is imminent ruin.

The mouth of the just yields wisdom, but the perverse tongue will be cut off.

For the evil have no future, the lamp of the wicked will be put out.

To the Lord the devious are an abomination, but the upright are close to him.

[The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil;] Pride, arrogance, the evil way, and the perverse mouth I hate.

Words from the mouth of the wise win favor, but the lips of fools consume them.
