In the land of Uz there was a blameless and upright man named Job, who feared God and avoided evil.

Whoever walks honestly walks securely, but one whose ways are crooked will fare badly.

Those who keep commands keep their lives, but those who despise these ways will die.

Those who guard mouth and tongue guard themselves from trouble.

Thorns and snares are on the path of the crooked; those who would safeguard their lives will avoid them.

With all vigilance guard your heart, for in it are the sources of life.

A highway will be there, called the holy way; No one unclean may pass over it, but it will be for his people; no traveler, not even fools, shall go astray on it.

But the one who perseveres to the end will be saved.

Rather, in every nation whoever fears him and acts uprightly is acceptable to him.

Because of this, I always strive to keep my conscience clear before God and man.

We are not among those who draw back and perish, but among those who have faith and will possess life.

Keep yourselves in the love of God and wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.

To the one who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you unblemished and exultant, in the presence of his glory,

Because you have kept my message of endurance, I will keep you safe in the time of trial that is going to come to the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth.
