In all labor there is profit, but mere talk tends only to loss.

One who winks at a fault causes trouble, but one who frankly reproves promotes peace.

The diligent hand will govern, but sloth makes for forced labor.

Do not those who plan evil go astray? But those who plan good win steadfast loyalty.

The crown of the wise is wealth; the diadem of fools is folly.

Those who cultivate their land will have plenty of food, but those who engage in idle pursuits will have plenty of want.

What profit have workers from their toil?

When you make a vow to God, delay not its fulfillment. For God has no pleasure in fools; fulfill what you have vowed.

Do not work for food that perishes but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him the Father, God, has set his seal.”

And furthermore, they learn to be idlers, going about from house to house, and not only idlers but gossips and busybodies as well, talking about things that ought not to be mentioned.
