Now Israel sent messengers to Sihon, king of the Amorites, with the message,

Then the Israelites moved on and encamped in the plains of Moab on the other side of the Jordan opposite Jericho. Balaam Summoned.

So he brought him to a lookout post on the top of Pisgah, where he built seven altars and offered a bull and a ram on each of them.

So he took Balaam to the top of Peor, that overlooks Jeshimon.

These, then, were those enrolled by Moses and Eleazar the priest, when they enrolled the Israelites on the plains of Moab along the Jordan at Jericho.

Beyond the Jordan, in the land of Moab, Moses undertook to explain this law: Departure from Horeb.

Go up to the top of Pisgah and look out to the west, and to the north, and to the south, and to the east. Look well, for you shall not cross this Jordan.

Then Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, the peak of Pisgah which faces Jericho, and the Lord showed him all the land—Gilead, and as far as Dan,

and all the Arabah beyond the Jordan to the east, as far as the Arabah Sea under the slopes of Pisgah.
