Of the descendants of Judah, registered by name and lineage according to their clans and ancestral houses, every male of twenty years or more, everyone fit for military service:
Once more she conceived and bore a son, and she said, “This time I will give thanks to the Lord”; therefore she named him Judah. Then she stopped bearing children.
Joab then reported the census figures to the king: of men capable of wielding a sword, there were in Israel eight hundred thousand, and in Judah five hundred thousand.
