Rejoice and leap for joy on that day! Behold, your reward will be great in heaven. For their ancestors treated the prophets in the same way.

Consider it all joy, my brothers, when you encounter various trials,

knowing that you will receive from the Lord the due payment of the inheritance; be slaves of the Lord Christ.

But rejoice to the extent that you share in the sufferings of Christ, so that when his glory is revealed you may also rejoice exultantly.

Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ on behalf of his body, which is the church,

Not only that, but we even boast of our afflictions, knowing that affliction produces endurance,

May the Lord reward what you have done! May you receive a full reward from the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come for refuge.”

Then the just shall rejoice to see the vengeance and bathe their feet in the blood of the wicked.

Happy the just, for it will go well with them, the fruit of their works they will eat.

The wicked make empty profits, but those who sow justice have a sure reward.

But they mocked God’s messengers, despised his words, and scoffed at his prophets, until the Lord’s anger against his people blazed up beyond remedy.

For the Son of Man will come with his angels in his Father’s glory, and then he will repay everyone according to his conduct.

But without faith it is impossible to please him, for anyone who approaches God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

who killed both the Lord Jesus and the prophets and persecuted us; they do not please God, and are opposed to everyone,

But, even if I am poured out as a libation upon the sacrificial service of your faith, I rejoice and share my joy with all of you.

For to you has been granted, for the sake of Christ, not only to believe in him but also to suffer for him.

You even joined in the sufferings of those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, knowing that you had a better and lasting possession.

who by faith conquered kingdoms, did what was righteous, obtained the promises; they closed the mouths of lions,

Take as an example of hardship and patience, brothers, the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.
