The centurion who witnessed what had happened glorified God and said, “This man was innocent beyond doubt.”

When Pilate heard these words he brought Jesus out and seated him on the judge’s bench in the place called Stone Pavement, in Hebrew, Gabbatha.

On an appointed day, Herod, attired in royal robes, [and] seated on the rostrum, addressed them publicly.

But when Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews rose up together against Paul and brought him to the tribunal,

And he drove them away from the tribunal.

They all seized Sosthenes, the synagogue official, and beat him in full view of the tribunal. But none of this was of concern to Gallio. Return to Syrian Antioch.

Paul answered, “I am standing before the tribunal of Caesar; this is where I should be tried. I have committed no crime against the Jews, as you very well know.

So when [they] came together here, I made no delay; the next day I took my seat on the tribunal and ordered the man to be brought in.

After spending no more than eight or ten days with them, he went down to Caesarea, and on the following day took his seat on the tribunal and ordered that Paul be brought in.

“He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.”

My children, I am writing this to you so that you may not commit sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous one.
