Then they will answer and say, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or ill or in prison, and not minister to your needs?’
How can you say, “I am not defiled, I have not pursued the Baals”? Consider your conduct in the Valley, recall what you have done: A skittish young camel, running back and forth,
A son honors his father, and a servant fears his master; If, then, I am a father, where is the honor due to me? And if I am a master, where is the fear due to me? So says the Lord of hosts to you, O priests, who disdain my name. But you ask, “How have we disdained your name?”
You have wearied the Lord with your words, yet you say, “How have we wearied him?” By saying, “All evildoers are good in the sight of the Lord, And he is pleased with them,” or “Where is the just God?”
Whoever receives a prophet because he is a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and whoever receives a righteous man because he is righteous will receive a righteous man’s reward.
Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name? Did we not drive out demons in your name? Did we not do mighty deeds in your name?’
